Three of New England's finest present an evening of holiday music and folk favorites, as the duo of Susie Burke and David Surette, joined by multi-instrumentalist Kent Allyn, bring their popular Christmas folk concert to Newburyport's Finch Coffeehouse. The concert will feature vocal and instrumental arrangements of Christmas carols and seasonal songs, along with folk and acoustic fare from their standard repertoire. With influences and styles ranging from folk to jazz, Celtic to rock, blues to Broadway and beyond, this trio presents the seasonal repertoire with warmth, flair and energy.

Warmth, vitality, and spontaneity mark the performances of Susie Burke and David Surette, and have earned them a reputation as one of the finest acts on the lively New England folk scene. Susie's beautiful, complex voice and David's graceful, nimble-fingered string playing combine with extraordinary results on their own blend of contemporary, traditional, and original folk and acoustic music.

Recipients of Individual Artist Fellowship awards from the NH State Council on the Arts in 1993, Susie and David are also on the Council's Touring Arts roster. Together they have released eight albums since 1990, including two new releases in 2008: a duo CD titled When the Small Birds Sweetly Sing, and David's Celtic release, The Green Mandolin.

Kent Allyn is an in-demand accompanist and studio musician, as well as a key member of several groups, including Ben Baldwin & the Big Note and the Night Heron Consort. His bass, piano, and electric guitar work have been heard on numerous recordings, Susie and David’s among them.
